September Color Challenge

Well, I was finally able to participate in another Blooms & Butterflies Color Challenge! The last one I participated in was June of 2016. That was right before I was diagnosed with Cancer. Now that I’m in remission and no longer doing chemo, I’m ready to get back at it! My energy is still not what it used to be but Lord willing I’ll get there!

Now, on to the challenge! My upline’s team is called Blooms & Butterflies. Brandy challenges us each month with a color challenge and I love to participate in them. They really get my creative juices flowing! This month’s challenge was Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pear Pizzaz, & Rose Red.

As soon as I saw the colors, I thought of the Coffee Cafe stamp set and I couldn’t wait to get started! Here is what I came up with:

To make this card, I started out with an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock cut in half to make a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece. I then took that piece and folded it in half to make the card base. Once folded, the card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Next, I took a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake and using Crumb Cake ink and the coffe beans stamp from the Coffee Cafe set, I stamped the image all over to create a background. The green banner is a 4 3/4″ x 2″ piece of Pear Pizzaz, punched on one end with the Banner punch. I glued that piece down with Multipurpose liquid glue. The white piece is 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. I stamped the coffee cup in Basic Black, the sentiment in Pear Pizzaz, and the little heart in Rose Red. I used the Coffee Cup framelits dies to cut out the lid in black & the heart “stopper” in Rose Red. The white piece & the coffee lid are attached using dimensionals.
